Solution notes
The trick with this one was to pick out the big drone chords. These are basically power chord shapes with 3 or 4 open strings added in. These chords are usually not worth naming as because of the open strings they have huge long names like, B6suspended2flat13 and things like that. LOL Usually they don't conform to any theory.
These chords are used a lot in rock music. Not necessarily the ones I used here but I mean drone chords in general. They are not as daunting to figure out as some would lead you to believe. Chords like this can be heard in V.H.'s Little Guitars, and Poundcake just to name a couple but other artists have used them as well for their stuff including, Metallica, and Dokken etc etc.
The trick here was to find the root notes and deduce the rest. Also to remember what these sound like. Remember what the open strings ringing out in these chords sound like so when and if you hear them again you will instantly know what the player is doing. Deduction and memory play a huge roll in learning anything by ear. You must remember and learn from things you already know.
My guitar teacher used to say, and I quote, "We're only as good a guitarist as our past experience allows us to be." This is a very true statement. It's one of those, it's not how much you know but what you can do with what you do know sort of statements. And I can speak from experience when I say I've drawn on things I've learned over the years to get me out Jamming "jams" many a time. LOL
