Solution notes
This one was a great way to get some practice figuring out a lead the way a lead is supposed to be figured out. Section by section and piece by piece rather than all at once. If you looked at what I gave you as a riff rather than a lead you probably had less trouble with it. All a solo is after all is a bunch of riffs thrown together to form a section of song.
You could also use association with this as there were parts of this you may have heard before such as the tiny little part from the Secrets solo from Mr. V.H. that I through in there. Beyond that, I gave many clues on the problem mp3. Too many probably, but even with the clues it was interesting to see where some of you tabbed this.
One of the main hot topics with leads in general is the positioning a player used to play something in. Regardless of how great a guitarist you are or how awesome your ear is you have to always face the fact that you might be playing something in the 7th position but the actual player did it in the 2nd position or something like that. Nobody is perfect with this. For example with V.H. stuff there are cases where I'm well aware Ed is playing something in the 12th position but on my guitar and my setup it sounds better and more authentic if I play the same thing in the 7th position on higher strings. That's player preference and sometimes we have to adjust things based on our equipment and how our setup sounds to us. Most of you are not going to make a living transcribing things. Most of you are simply going to learn things to learn them. So accuracy and position are where you think they sound good and may not match exactly where the given player did something.
The tabs for this lesson might surprise some of you but there were others who nailed it. A couple people were dead on perfect with it. Which ever person you are be sure you play your way with my way and if you did get it wrong this again will help your ear hear what the right way sounds like, what notes that match perfectly sound like.

"Actual" TABS for the problem
Solo section, key of D minor.
The D minor scale is, D, E, F, G, A, Bb, C
So it's key signature is all B's are Flat. D minor is the relative minor of F.
The scale I used in the position I used it in is below.

Solo section leads
** Chord hits used as accent as there is no band playing and the listener needs a frame of reference. Had this been an actual solo to an actual song, those chord hits would not be there it would only be soloing around the rhythm.
