There are 4 main sections on Beginners 101 (we count the introduction as a section).

The Introduction ( which we count as one section.)  Contains the intro jam as well as countless tips.

Section 1:  Understanding the fret board and the layout of the notes and several tunings are covered as well.

Section 2:  Basic theory.  What you need to know about Chords, Scales, and keys. (Very important section)

Section 3:  Application and exercises.  Some great practice exercises are given and we use real world classic examples for practice and to show how the topics covered in earlier sections relate to the fret board and work in real world jam situations.

CD ROM System Requirements

For PC Users:  Minimum Processor speed of 233MHz is recommended with at least 64MB of RAM.  A CD ROM drive is required. 

Windows Media player is suggested but if you are using another player be sure you have a player that will play .wmv format.  Windows media player 8 or 9 or 10 is highly recommended.  But, version 9 is strongly recommended or version 10 if you run Windows XP.  Be sure to update your player. 

Click the test media link to be sure you will be able to play the videos TEST MEDIA   Its a low bit rate test but,  if you see the guitar you're all set.

For the tabs you will need either an internet Browser for the html version, or Acrobat for the .PDF version.  I'm sure everyone's computer will be able to open the tabs up just fine in one format or another. 

Mac users:  Be sure you click the Test Media link above to be sure you can play these videos.  If you cannot, be sure your media player has .wmv as an enabled format and that you have all the updates available for your media player.  Windows Media player  9 for MAC is recommended.  If you are a Mac user and cannot access our files, click here for our info page on the most common error Mac users will encounter.  Our videos both here on the site and on the CD ROMs will work with either Mac or PC.

DVD System Requirements  (if applicable)

DVDs are either + R or - R and are either NTSC or PAL format.  It's your responsibility to know what your DVD player will play as far as NTSC or PAL goes.  Most DVD players these days will play both +R or -R DVDs.  These are very common formats.  So far no DVD compatibility issues have come up with our products.  Most people know what their DVD player will play.  If you need a specific DVD like -R or +R we suggest emailing us first so we can make arrangements to get you what you need.  However, there shouldn't be any issue as I don't even know of a DVD player made today that won't play both +R or -R DVDs.

All DVDs are tested to be sure they work before we ship them to avoid bad burn issues.  We do our very best to ensure the highest quality.  If you have any concerns or questions, we're always glad to help.  Simple email us at, admin@jfrocks3.com.  Like I say though, there really haven't been any compatibility issues with our DVDs.  It should be noted that we test our DVDs in a really cheap drug store model DVD player to take it a step further and be sure they there are absolutely no issues. 

This is a 35 dollar DVD player from Rite Aid that we test this stuff in.  We're sure your DVD player is better than this piece of junk, and our piece of junk plays them just fine.
