I received my Blizzard of Notes DVD a day
or so ago. Jeff to me is the chameleon of guitar instruction. I'm
always blown away by how he can seemingly sound like who ever he wants to.
I own both Vin Heuton dvds and I own steel dirigible. Now I also own blizzard of notes. Great title by the way I'm not surprised that Jeff does vh well and the vin heuton stuff sounds great. I've been coming here for years as have many others, and we all know that jfrocks is famous for Van Halen 101. It's also no surprise that Jeff does Jimmy Page well. Page and Van Halen are both Blues based styles and share many similarities in how they approach things. BUT!! Van Halen and Rhoads are two ends of a guitar spectrum and my hat goes off to Jeff. I've been mesmerized by this CD since it arrived. In particular the title track Diary of a mad guitarist. I don't even want to know how you programmed the drum machine for that song. That's an amazing song and all by itself it would be an astounding Rhoads lesson. The fact is Jeff and the whole jfrocks gang have been blowing my mind with what they slap together in what they call Jeff's garage for years now. We can hear it in every website lesson update, but the DVDs and CDs give us more material to work with and more in depth lessons than anything on the website. You don't even have to know who Rhoads is, or even like Rhoads to learn from it. These are just great songs with great guitar work, and very well thought out lessons to go along with them. The sound is great, the leads are great,
the licks are great and the lessons are easy to follow and make sense.
The on screen text and tabs is god send too. GTO GTO67GUY in the JFRocks forum

I've been playing guitar or maybe I should
say "playing at playing guitar" for over 20 years and could never really
get over the hump of really learning the instrument. I stumbled across
Jeff's website in an attempt to find some help on playing Van Halen. What
I found was the exactly what I needed to break free of trying to mimic
songs and finally learn the foundation these songs/techniques were built
on and take my playing to the next level.
I even went
back to the Beginner CD's in hopes of finding some nuggets that I had
missed in all my years of playing...and I did. As a matter of fact I'm
still trying to master knowing every note of the fret board instead of a
few common notes here and there. The best thing is, I can use the lessons
over and over until I finally master the concept Jeff is trying to convey.
The Van Techniques CDs really opened up my eyes and showed me why it is
important to learn the why we play things the way we do, not just trying
to learn what notes to play. I'm starting to be able to improvise stuff
now that sounds (at least to me) like EVH and I NEVER was able to do
anything like that. I could only mimic parts. Even my wife and Kids have
noticed a dramatic improvement in my playing and will actually listen :)

I have a great deal of respect for Jeff and what he does. I've never submitted one of these testimonials. I usually hate these sorts of things. I felt the need to submit one of these though because I've read some of the other ones that are here. While they're all great and say nice things about Jeff and his products nobody has touched on the one key point that if you're not buying Jeff's products and you're coming to this site and using up the bandwidth to enjoy the free stuff online, then you're putting the site in jeopardy. There should be no need for a page like this. Jeff's body of work over the years has been incredible. People who are new to the site have no idea of the trials and tribulations it's been through over the years. Vin Heuton 1, yes I have it. It's nothing short of awesome. Then there's also Soloing 101 which explains the modes in a way that anyone can understand them and use them. Look I'm a big fan of this site, I have the whole product line. I think what these guys do is amazing. Especially when you consider the speed at which they put their products and website updates together. The Vin Heuton 1 music CD is as good as anything I have in my cd collection. That's pretty cool considering they put it together in about 6 weeks or so and it's made for instruction and not to be an actual CD. Jeff probably has more song writing talent in his little finger than I'll ever have but the fact that he's willing to show me and explain to me how he does it is enough for me to purchase anything and everything he produces. Kelly Ross the evil site admin from hell probably won't put this testimonial up because I'm just ranting, but hey Kelly you should put this up on the web because as I've said countless times in your forum, "anyone who isn't purchasing these products and taking full advantage of the great learning and great instruction should have their head examined." Vin Heuton 1 is the bomb. If you want to learn how Edward plays so that you can really play like Ed and not just spit out his riffs like a jukebox then you NEED to get yourself a copy of Vin Heuton 1 and start getting serious and stop screwing around with the other junk that's on the market for Ed's style. Who cares if you can play Romeo Delight or Girl Gone Bad, the question is, do you understand every last bit of it and how and why it works and could you write it or a song like it if you had to? It never hurts to get different perspectives on things. Jeff's approach to teaching the style is like no other and it will only help you play the actual Vh songs even better in the end. Not to mention the minds you'll blow at your next band rehearsal when you start improvising in Eddie's style. That'll turn some heads that's for sure. jfrocks said a long time ago that they don't need cover songs to show you how to play guitar in various styles. They were right, and they prove it every single week with Vin Heuton updates and beyond vin heuton updates. Jeff especially proves his VH prowess with Vin Heuton 1. I said it in the forum and I'll say it here. "Jeff should win an award for the Vin Heuton 1 DVD and CD." Big thumbs up and I hope everyone reads this testimonial and follows what I'm saying. I anxiously await, VIN HEUTON II

I purchased the vin heuton 1 cd dvd package about a week ago. Not
only am I impressed with the riffing on the cd, the teaching on the dvd is
amazing. Jeff has a great grasp of Eddie's style. More than
that though he explains it in a way that's easy to follow and just makes
sense. I just wanted to say thanks for the great product and I will
be purchasing more of your instructional products later this week.
What you're doing here is incredible and unique in that nobody really
approaches things from the angle that you do.
If you're on the fence about purchasing vin heuton 1 or any of Jeff's dvds or cds. Take my word for it they're worth 10x the cost. I can't believe the amount of learning you get for the low price that's charged. These guys over here really do care about the learning and aren't just in it for a quick buck. That's very rare to find and not something that should be passed up.

Jeff, I have to say thanks very much from one ed head to another. I just
finished the whole 4 and half hours of lessons on the vin heuton 1 dvd and
I'll say this, I own everything that exists from everyone who ever
produced anything on eddie van halen and you should win an award for that
dvd. The lessons are amazing the attention to detail on technique and how to pick and how to use the whammy bar properly are awesome. The songs are awesome too but I think the biggest and most important part of vin heuton 1 is the dvd and the lessons. Never in my life have I learned so much and understood it so well. You truly have amazing grasp on how evh plays and once again thanks very much for the product. It has made a lot of things about eddies playing that were a mystery to me very, very clear. You guys say that its the best product you've ever produced on eddie's style, I'll go a step further and say that its the best product ANYWHERE for learning and understanding Eddie's style. And I know because I own them all and have a whole rack of them. You should put this product in stores!! vin heuton 1 isn't something that anyone struggling to learn eddie's style should be without. Its just wow.. Big thumbs up. !! and BIG THANKS.
I also posted this in your forum, I
wanted to be sure people know what a fantastic vh learning experience the
vin heuton 1 dvd package is.

I was always very skeptical of Jeff's CD ROMs. I spent a lot of
years coming to this website and downloading the weekly lessons and
getting my little bit out of them and moving on. I figured the CDs
couldn't possibly be anything more than what was on the site. The
site contains longer better lessons than most of the other products I've
purchased. I'm here to tell you I WAS DEAD WRONG! I purchased
Soloing 101 recently. This CD and the 5 hours of video lessons that
come with it, which I feel is pretty incredible for the price because it's
way more information and better teaching than what others offer for far
more money. All pricing put to the side this soloing cd has
catapulted my guitar playing 10 years beyond what it had been. I've
had the modes and how to use scales to solo explained to me 1000 different
ways over the years I've been playing guitar. I got it but I still
couldn't USE them, I just understood they existed and what they were sort
of. Which I figure is pretty much the same boat that a lot of
guitarists that come to jfrocks are in. NEVER in my life has anyone
ever explained the modes and scales to me the way Jeff did on this soloing
CD. In my opinion, and I own a lot of products, SOLOING 101 is the
FINEST GUITAR INSTRUCTIONAL PRODUCT YOU"LL EVER GET YOUR HANDS ON FOR
PLAYING LEADS LIKE A PRO. I've been a blues box guy for a lot of
years. I now solo with things like Locrian and Dorian modes and I
really get it, I understand what's happening with them because it wasn't
over complicated by a teacher. Jeff broke down what all these modes
mean and how they work in an easy to understand way. That's what
TEACHING IS! This guy is a TEACHER, and that should mean something
to people. Sometimes on Jeff's videos here on the site he mentions
that he makes things workable for the average Joe. That doesn't go
un-noticed by individuals like myself. Never in my life did I
imagine that he could also make something like using full scales and modes
to solo so easy to understand too.
If you're on the fence and think the site is good enough and you don't need a cd too...think again...the jfrocks cd roms are incredible...I just ordered the Blues and Lead guitar CDs today and I cannot wait for them to arrive. This is the best site anywhere for guitarists, thanks a Billion to all of you who put it together...and I look forward to growing my jfrocks cd catalog. Adam, Seattle, WA

I have owned guitars for about 20 years but
only playing seriously for the last 6. I have dozens of books, Video
lessons, as well as a couple of CD ROMS from "the other guy" that I have
studied over the last 6 years until about 7 months ago a friend told me
about JFRocks.com and I reluctantly checked it out. I have bought Soloing
101 and went thru it then bought both Rock on and Leads 101. I have only
got half way thru Rock on but let me tell you. I have learned more and
come further with Jeff's CD ROMS then 6 years of the other guy's stuff, no
Bull. Jeff talks and teaches in way that anybody can understand. He makes
you really look at what your playing and for the money, its a no brainer.
You will learn, hell I did. Mike from Cleveland

Having just
purchased my first guitar, I searched and searched the web for lesson
based material but all I could find was the same old spiel "guaranteed to
be playing guitar in 30 days" what a load of crap!!! I nearly gave up, but
fortunately found jfrocks and started downloading lessons "WOW" the free
lessons are awesome!!! I then purchased beginners 101 and within 5 days it
was at my doorstep, LA to Melbourne, Australia in 5 days. This cd rocks
and I now find myself explaining things to some of my mates who have been
playing for a few years now. LOL. Melbourne, Australia

I've been an 'at-home' guitar player for 15
years. I consider myself an intermediate player. I've seen and tried many
products over the years, and I can honestly say the Jfrocks Cd-roms are BY
FAR the best product out there. I originally purchased 4 of the Cd-roms
because I was so impressed with the free video lessons on the site that I
wanted to show my support. After viewing these original 4 Cd-roms (Rock
on, Blues, Soloing 101, and Rhythm 101) I was utterly blown away at the
quality, depth, and wealth of information. If anyone is hesitant or
skeptical about purchasing one---don't be. There is so much information on
these Cd-roms it will keep you busy for a very long time. And for the
price---its an unbelievable bargain. I've seen (and bought) products that
are similarly priced (or even cost more) that contain just a fraction of
what is on 1 of the Jfrocks Cd-roms. These Cd-roms are easily worth 10
times what is being charged, and that is being conservative.

Since I've already sent comments in once I thought I shouldn't do it
twice. However, I just went through Beginners 101 for the first time
and I can't believe it. I finally understand harmonics and exactly why
it's important to know the fret board. I was really skeptic at how "fun" a
beginners CD ROM could really be... but with the coolest licks thrown in
from some really great rock songs.. I actually had a blast. I've got
months worth of material again. 5-6 hours of quality lessons for under 20
bucks...you cant beat that with a stick! Scott Burton dusk884 in the jfrocks forum

For over 10 years I've played, or tried to play guitar. I've had 4 lessons
from 4 different "teachers" and didn't care for them so much so I never
went back. They just weren't any fun and I noticed a lot of people just
want to show you what they can do rather than show YOU how to do it. Sitting down with Jeff's CDs has made my hobby fun again. He really gives you everything you need to play what YOU want to play. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd play anything remotely close to VH or Steve Vai. I know that if I had more time and money, I'd buy every single one of Jeff's CD Roms. They are simply the best tools for learning the guitar that I've ever seen. Scott Burton dusk884 in the jfrocks forum

I purchased Soloing101 and the rock on Cd from you guys and they are
amazing. I will probably be spending weeks with soloing101.
There is thousands of dollars worth of information on that Cd. What
I mean is for a private instructor to show you everything that's on there
and explain it all you would be looking at months worth of lessons.
I'm only part way through it and I've already understood more about what
these "modes" are than I have before. The Rock on Cd is one of the
most fun learning aids I have ever watched. The explanation and
practice tips are great and your section 3 on rock on blew me away.
I'm looking forward to future Cds from you guys. I plan to purchase
the rest of your catalog on Friday when I get paid. Just wanted to
thank Jeff and everyone involved here for both the Cds and the website.
I've said it before in your forum and I'll say it again this place is the
best on the internet for really learning to play guitar and understanding
it. Big thumbs up on all you do. George Tyson, Seattle WA

Soloing 101 is probably the best learning tool I have ever seen for not
only understanding the modes and how they relate but USING THEM! All
I can say is I've been a blues box player for over 10 years now. I
knew about the modes, I've learned my share of Satriani songs to know they
exist but I never knew what I was playing. Jeff, thanks to Soloing
101 I can improvise great solos right off the top of my head. Its
incredible and a great bargain for the amount of learning it has on it.
The explanations you give are easy to follow and as always you really go
out of your way to break things down. Soloing 101 was the first CD
of yours I bought and I now understand why everyone says the CDs are way
different than the site. There is so much information there.
In retrospect I think you should charge 50 bucks for it. I have
other videos that are only 45 minutes long that I paid twice what you
charge for and they suck compared to what you are doing. Keep up the
great work and I'll be picking up you other CDs shortly. Amazing, I
only wish you were around 10 years ago doing this to save me all the money
and time I spent on other garbage. Mike Monroe, MI

I just got Rock on and the van cds. These are great, keep up the
great work, I don't think I've ever seen anything this good as far as
learning material anywhere. I have some of the other stuff that's on
the market and they just pass by things quickly and I never really learned
much from them. Your stuff on the other hand is the exact opposite
of that other stuff. There is so much learning here its going to
take me months to get through it all but my playing has already improved.
Thanks again for making such a great product available. And for this
site too. I'm new here to this site and i'm hooked and plan to be
pretty much living here over the coming months and years. I'll be
picking up your Soloing cd just as soon as I send this email. Can't
wait to get that one.

I have been playing guitar for about 20 years, I have been in arut for the
last 19 years. I have all the gear and the tab books but they don't make
any sense to me.. I found this site a couple of weeks ago and
ordered a few of the CD roms. It's the best thing I have ever seen,
I now have a sound that I really like, I've never been able to say that
before, Jeff explains everything and to actually see him play is amazing.
I have a complete different outlook on the guitar now and I am enjoying
playing again. The only negative thing I'll say about Jeff is "why didn't
you do this 20 years ago!!!" The web site is excellent, I can't say
enough about these guys. Jeff I really do want to thank you for
sharing your amazing talent with us..

I was literally blown away by the amount of great tips and advice (both
that I learned the hard way over the years or brand new to me) and I've
been playing for just over 20 years myself. I was so impressed I made a long post on the forum but I also wanted to thank you guys personally for such a great job and following up making sure it was still on it's way when it was delayed in shipping. I've seen a lot of video lessons in my time but never seen any cover in such depth and detail as these. Just watching the first hour from the second set I kept thinking.... man, it took me nearly 20 years of experimenting and trial and error to learn what was just explained to me in this freakin' first hour and that's only a small portion of the entire set. I've also met a lot of guitarists too and have never once ran into anyone that has so closely matched exactly all these things on guitar setup and other guitar related tips mentioned in that first hour as Jeff did in this video. It was like either nobody would think it mattered at all or they'd say it made it worse for playing or tone. The first set was awesome but this second set blew my mind with it's coverage and depth and finally showed me one other person that was doing exactly what I spent so many years trying to get others to try. (even on the net nobody would even try, and yet still complained they couldn't get a brown sound... lol) Heck, all I'd ever ask them was to at least try these things and if they didn't like it, cool.. no prob, but I could never find anyone to even believe me, even with things like trying out Fender XL 150's. (or shoot, even any XL's as everyone everywhere I look for a long time is so pushing using Light gauges) Way to go guys and keep up the great work. I'll also definitely be ordering many more CD's as I get some extra cash. ;) This Person Chose to remain anonymous.

STOP! If you think for a minute that you shouldn't get a CD Rom
because the tab for a song or songs from the CD are on the site already.
DON'T EVEN GO THERE! As has been said often about Jeff's CD roms
they are night and day from the website. Two different animals.
The cd roms are intense detail with no time limit. Jeff breaks the
stuff down so well even a Monkey could play these songs or at the very
least flub their way through it depending on their skill level. I
remember when I go the Fair Warning CD rom. Not only was I doing
Dirty Movies I was doing it with the CD. What I mean about the site
is the site is a bit simplified. The intro Jeff has for Dirty movies
on the CD Rom is more true to V.H. with the four finger walking and all
that. Even down to the right frets its on. Also on that one is
One foot out the door and Sunday afternoon in the park. Never in my
wildest imagination did I think I would playing either of those especially
Sunday afternoon in the park.
For what you get the pricing is unreal. 4 or 5 hours of detailed lessons separated by song title with accurate tabs. Its sick and I'm glad its being done. Soloing 101 and V.H. techniques 101 are equally as awesome as the V.H. album Cds. Even if you are a beginner there is no reason not to have these Cd roms. A++++ great stuff. And it pairs excellent as a learning aid with what they do with the website. Marty Las Vegas, NV
_____________________________________________________________________________________ |
|
All I can say is keep up the great work. I have all the tab books
for these V.H. albums and never could figure out too much as they are
hard to decipher sometimes. What I mean is the stuff isn't always
easy to translate to the guitar. Jeff's videos along with his
excellent tabs of the V.H. albums not only are easy to follow but
really help make sense of this stuff. Now I'm playing V.H. the
way it was meant to be played. I also have soloing 101 and Rhythm
101. I will say without a doubt two of the most fantastic learning
tools around. Jeff has a real gift for explaining and looking at
complex things in a manor that makes it workable for the average Joe
player like me. I'm using modes like Locrian and Lydian now in my
playing. These are things I never understood before. We can't
all be music geniuses and virtuosos. But with Jeff's cd roms the average
player like me and probably you, can play like a virtuoso and have the
fret board make sense in our own heads instead of being stuck in the blues
box. Awesome site and awesome cd roms. Keep'em coming
pllleaaaseee. Mark Robbins Houston, TX

I would just like to say thank you! I was merely a "once in awhile
player" but then I found the website by accident and ordered the only
cd-rom that was available in V.H. 1.
Let me say my life has been changed; since I have purchased every cd-rom
released and become a much better player! I simply wonder each day how
it is that they are so inexpensive compared to real life lessons when
they offer so much more! Not to mention the support you give by
answering questions so quickly to help out!
The more recent cd-roms being the Van 101 Lesson of the Week, Soloing 101, and Rhythm
101 are superb and I have been spending more and more time with those
three lately. Let's face it that there is and will only be 1 Eddie V.H. so to encourage people to take their own guitar playing and create
a style that is INFLUENCED by V.H. is wonderful and that's what these
cd-roms force you to do.
Again I simply want to say thanks and encourage everyone out there to
give at least one cd-rom a chance; choose your favorite V.H. album
or try one of the three technique cd-roms and with a little effort you
will be a better guitar player.
Robert Kado

| Well what can I say?, these cd roms have made me a 100%
better and well rounded musician. I've gotten the V.H. 1 Cd Rom and the Soloing 101 Cd Rom so far and they are the most informative and simple lessons I could ever imagine. They come with so much detail, not only in how to play the song but really how to play in general. He gives multiple ways of doing things and really breaks it down to were even a monkey could play. Honestly this is the best deal I've ever seen. I mean I'd buy his Cd Roms if they were 50$ each. It's totally worth it. And one of the things I like most is Jeff likes to keep things light and fun. Anyways very freakin' awesome Cd Roms! Randy from Bakersfield, CA _____________________________________________________________________________________ |

I have been playing guitar for 35 years and
in all those years I haven't found anything that comes close to Jeff's
phenomenal
lesson and V.H. CD Roms. Sure I have pasted
together methods by other so called "experts" which left me in the dark
most
of the time. Jeff's CD Roms will make a
light go off in your head and yes you will become a fret board monster!

| I have all of the V.H. CD Roms and all of the Lesson
CD Roms. I also have most of the other stuff on the market.
There is something about Jeff's style of teaching that makes things so
easy to understand. I'm playing songs and playing guitar in general
better than I ever have. Awesome CD Roms. Soloing 101 is a
remarkable product. And the V.H. CD roms are not only very
accurate but very indepth in the way things are explained. Its not
just some guy playing it then moving on. Jeff really hammers it in.
I've been coming to this site for a year now. And I've been playing
guitar for 10 years. I've learned more in the past year from Jeff's
site and CD Roms than I did in the previous 10 years.

_____________________________________________________________________________________ |
| I'm a new purchaser of the CDs and I got 1984 and Fair
Warning. These are two cds I could never get the songs down on.
I have the tab books for both albums. And Jeff's tabs are better
than what is in the books first of all. I cross checked while I was
going through the Cd rom. And all the parts I could never get I
finally got. This in part due to the great tabs and also in part due
to the awesome teaching skills Jeff has. DO NOT base what you think
is on the Cd roms on what Jeff does on this website. Jeff loves to
screw around and embellish a bit on the website here but on the cd roms
he's all business and its a big help. Imagine having something
better than the tab books with detailed video lessons to help you play it.
Those cds are worth 10 times what they charge for them. As always,
thanks Jeff. And I hope you never stop.

I
purchased the Soloing 101 CD lesson set and I believe it is great
investment for any player. Put simply, it is probably the simplest
explanation of scales/modes I've seen. I've been a player for 20 years,
and have picked up a lot of theory, yet I've learned more from the CD's
in a month than I have in years. No matter what your skill level you
should be able to take something valuable away from these lessons.
Jeff's teaching style is very laid back, and he encourages the
development of your own techniques and style instead of monotonous
repetition of a particular technique. The CD's are great, and much more
in depth than the information found in the lessons on the site. The
JFRocks website contains so many valuable tidbits of information I
wouldn't want to see anyone ignore the website in favor of the CD's
though, they compliment each other well. I cannot recommend them both
highly enough. I've been referring people here since I stumbled across
the site.
